Curriculum Choices 2025

Thursday 27 February 2025 (5pm until 7.30pm)

There will be a presentation to parents on two occasions during the evening to outline the structure of the Key Stage 4 curriculum and to explain the Options process.  The presentation will be held in the Main Hall at 5.15pm, repeated at 6pm, and will be available on the school website for parents who are unable to attend.

Parents and students will have the opportunity to gather more specific information by speaking with subject staff who will be based in classrooms in the Meridian Building. Rooming guides will be available on the evening. Please make sure that you sign in at the Main Hall foyer on arrival.

The aims of the evening are to provide an opportunity to discuss option choices with staff and to receive individual advice from subject staff and Heads of Department who will explain their courses. There are no timed appointments, the hope is that parents and students will organise the evening in the way that suits them best.

The Inclusion Team will be available in the Library, during the evening to discuss any queries or respond to any questions for those students with additional needs.  The Year Team will be available in the Main Hall foyer to answer questions.

We are confident that the evening will be a constructive and informative session for both you and your child. Your active participation is crucial in making well-informed decisions regarding your child's academic journey.

A reminder that car parking for the Options Evening is available at the back of school, accessible via the Park Road entrance. Please note there will be no access from the front of school on Bluehouse Lane, therefore if you are walking to school, you will need to access via the back of school. We would like to politely remind parents/carers that you should not park in the Barn Theatre car park, United Church car park or on Bluehouse Lane directly outside school.
